08 January 2024Sixteen percent of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) increased 0.2 Mbps and 83 percent stayed the same this month on the Netflix ISP Speed Index, our monthly update on which ISPs provide the best prime time Netflix streaming experience.
Three countries and regions were in the top performance tier for December: Hong Kong, Singapore, and Spain all registered an average speed of 3.2 Mbps, mirroring November’s results.
There were no significant ISP gains or notable changes to country averages for December. MyRepublic in Indonesia and 2degrees in New Zealand both dropped from 2.8 to 2.6 Mbps. MTN in South Africa also dropped 0.2 Mbps, falling from 2.6 to 2.4 Mbps.
The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of prime time Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services or data that may travel across the specific ISP network. Higher Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times and fewer interruptions. We also created a separate tool to check your current download performance: Visit https://FAST.com on any internet browser or download the FAST Speed Test iOS or Android app.
