21 February 2025The much-anticipated series When Life Gives You Tangerines, starring IU and Park Bo-gum, has released its main trailer, giving viewers a look into the vibrant world of Ae-sun and Gwan-sik. Spanning from Jeju in the 1960s to Seoul in 2025, their journey through life’s ups and downs promises a heartwarming, relatable and emotional drama.
The trailer beautifully captures the changing seasons of life while also highlighting the duo’s palpable chemistry. IU’s portrayal of Ae-sun, a dream-filled literary girl, showcases her spirited and aspirational nature, while Park Bo-gum brings Gwan-sik to life as a devoted man who faces challenges with determination and grace. The series also features Moon So-ri and Park Hae-joon as the older Ae-sun and Gwan-sik, navigating the more mature chapters of their lives with resilience and strength.
As the years go by, viewers will witness Ae-sun’s transformation from her youthful days into a spirited rebel, alongside the evolution of her relationship with Gwan-sik — a journey hinted at in the newly released character stills. These stills also highlight the diverse individuals who shape Ae-sun and Gwan-sik’s journey, including Kim Yong-lim as Mak-cheon and Na Moon-hee as Chun-ok. Yeom Hye-ran and Oh Min-ae portray Ae-sun and Gwan-sik’s mothers, while Choi Dae-hoon and Chang Hyae-jin add excitement as Sang-gil and Yeong-ran. Cha Mi-kyeong, Lee Soo-mi, and Baik Ji-won bring warmth as Chung-su, Yang-im, and Gyeong-ja. Cheong Hae-kyun, Oh Jung-se, and Uhm Ji-won round out the talented cast, each adding their unique touch to this vibrant and heartfelt story of life.
When Life Gives You Tangerines premieres on March 7, only on Netflix.
