Berlin/Vienna, 03/06/2024: Following the success start of the film adaptation of Bernhard Aichner's bestselling Woman of the Dead  trilogy in 2023, which stars Anna Maria Mühe as undertaker Brünhilde Blum, thriller fans can look forward to a second season: Filming for Season 2 of the co-production between Netflixand ORF began in Austria in mid-February. Director Daniel Geronimo Prochaska is filming scenes in Tirol, Vienna and Lower Austria for six new episodes, and along with Anna Maria Mühe, the cast includes Peter Kurth, Britta Hammelstein, Robert Palfrader, Michou Friesz, Yousef Sweid, Gerhard Liebmann, Dominic Marcus Singer, Sabine Timoteo, Lucas Gregorowicz, Emilia Pieske and Lilian Rosskopf. The six-part series is being produced with support from FISA+, ABA and Cine Tirol Film Commission.

Blum's past catches up with her: When parts of someone else's body are discovered in the coffin of a deceased person, Blum is once again targeted by the police and arrested. During the interrogation, Blum is confronted with the news that her daughter Nela has been kidnapped. Blum is expected to hand over a video for ransom – a video that she doesn't even have. Not only is she forced to evade the police and Inspector Wallner, who are on her trail, she must also resist the manipulations of shady businessman Sarkissian. But Blum is willing to do anything to save Nela.
