Netflix Announces the Second Season of 'Rulers of Fortune', a Drama Series About an Illegal Gambling Game Known as "Jogo do Bicho"

São Paulo, November 12, 2025 - In true Profeta style, André Lamoglia, has a message for everyone — the series Rulers of Fortune has been renewed for a second season. That’s right! Netflix just confirmed the renewal of the show that has captivated Brazil and the world with its outstanding cast and a plot filled with secrets and power struggles, set in the underworld of the illegal betting game known as the "jogo do bicho."

Since its premiere on October 29, Rulers of Fortune has ranked number 1 among Netflix Brazil's most-watched productions. The series has not only captivated Brazilian audiences but also reached the top spot in Netflix’s global ranking, becoming the most-watched non-English-language production in the world, with 5.9 million views.

Produced by Paranoïd, Rulers of Fortune introduced Netflix Brazil's slate of "mafia productions," bringing an authentic Rio de Janeiro flavor to the screen. The series was created by Heitor Dhalia (Criminal Code), Bernardo Barcellos, who also wrote the script, and Bruno Passeri. The first season was directed by Heitor Dhalia, Rafael Miranda Fejes and Matias Mariani.
