Main convict on the case 'El crimen de la Guardia Urbana' speaks for the first time from prison
The film is produced and directed by Carlos Agulló and boosted by 'El caso Wanninkhof-Carabantes' producers
Netflix has announced today the release on September the 9th of 'Rosa Peral’s tapes', a documentary film produced by Brutal Media (El caso Wanninkhof- Carabantes) y Carlos Agulló, who directs the film as well.
Rosa Peral’s tapes presents from a new angle the facts of the “Guardia Urbana crime” that took place in 2017. Five years later, Rosa Peral breaks her silence from prison. The documentary shows for the first time her testimony and never-seen-before footage from her personal archive as well as interviews with her closer circle, the prosecutor and the attorneys on the case, and some of the journalists that followed the case.
“From the very beginning we knew that the big challenge on this project was telling the story from a point of view of a protagonist that we didn’t have physically. Because she was in prison sentenced for murder, we couldn’t tape an interview with her, less following her on her day to day. Luckily what was supposed to be a series of 8 minute calls became videocalls and this was an amazing gift in terms of visual narrative”, says Carlos Agulló, author and producer of 'Rosa Peral's tapes'.
