“This song has the power of imagination, of dreaming, and how it can take us to higher places”, melts Priscilla Alcantara, in an unprecedented behind-the-scenes video of the recording of “Vou Voar”. The singer, who got into the studio in August, is the voice of the theme song of Netflix’s new movie Over The Moon, that premieres on October 23. Directed by animation’s legend Glen Keane, the plot revolves around the power of children’s imagination and the importance of moving forward, even in the face of the unexpected.
On her first work experience with an orchestrated melody, Priscilla emphasizes her synergy with the message of the film: “I’ve deeply connected with the song, being free and dreaming high is something that I believe and this is what I want people to feel using my voice to represent and echo”. On the video, the 24-year-old singer, considered one of the biggest Gospel music names and with a Latin Grammy nomination in her career, also shares how she felt connected with the lead character, little girl Fei Fei. “This playful side that every human, every adult has to keep is part of our inner child. It is the capacity of dreaming, the ambition that somehow our imagination proposes”, completes Priscilla.
The video also shows images of the film and presents Glen Keane, that introduces the story: “Over The Moon is the story of Fei Fei, a 12 year old little girl who believes that love lasts forever and the representation of this eternal love is the Moon Goddess, Chang'e, as her mother told her. Chang’e lives on the dark side of the moon, so Fei Fei decides to build a rocket to find her”.
The Brazilian music “Vou Voar” is available on every digital platform.
