One Journey, Five Friends

Itsaso Arana, Mónica Miranda, María Rodríguez Soto, Mariona Terés and Godeliv Van den Brandt star in the first series written and directed by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo. The Girls at the Back is a new 6-episode fiction that starts shooting in Cádiz and Madrid.

The Girls at the Back are five women in their thirties, close friends since high school, who every year without exception organize a week-long getaway together. This year, the circumstances of the trip are special and different because one of them has just been diagnosed with cancer. There are trips that change your life forever. There are lives that change your trips forever.

The main cast of Las de la última fila is led by  Itsaso Arana (Reyes de la noche, The August Virgin), Mónica Miranda (Todos los saben, Lo dejo cuando quiera), María Rodríguez Soto (The Days to Come, Com si fos ahir), Mariona Terés (Veneno, Paquita Salas), and Godeliv Van den Brandt (Valeria, Sky Rojo). 

This is the first fiction series written and directed by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo (Seventeen, Cousinhood, Dark Blue Almost Black) and is based on his own original idea, which he himself has written and will direct. This new series, which Atípica Films produces for Netflix, will have six episodes and has just started shooting in several locations in the province of Cádiz and Madrid.

The cast of The Girls at the Back is completed with the special participation of actors such as Javier Rey (HACHE, Fariña), Macarena García (Paraíso, The Ministry of Time), Michelle Jenner (Heirs to the Land, Isabel), Carmen Machi (Criminal, Mother’s Love), Antonio de la Torre (The Endless Trench, The Candidate) and Melina Matthews (La Peste, Warrior Nun).
