13 March 2024As part of the Next on Netflix show this Wednesday in Berlin, Netflix presented upcoming series and film highlights.
Netflix introduced a number of exciting new films, series, documentaries and reality shows with the focus on both German and international productions. Accompanied by scenes from brand new films and series, previously unpublished behind-the-scenes material, and interviews with filmmakers and other creators, the audience in attendance was able to get a comprehensive picture of the upcoming slate. There were also many new announcements, such as the film Brick, which is currently being filmed and stars Matthias Schweighöfer, Ruby O. Fee and Frederick Lau. Bill and Tom Kaulitz and Shirin David were live on stage at Kosmos to present the reality series Kaulitz & Kaulitz and the documentary Shirin David. The audience also got to see the first scenes of reality shows Love Is Blind: Germany and Too Hot to Handle Germany Season 2.
The many stars on the Netflix stage in Berlin-Friedrichshain offered exclusive insights into other upcoming highlights: Lavinia Wilson and Mina Tander presented their upcoming series Cassandra, Edin Hasanovic and Taneshia Abt talked about the film Blame the Game, in which they play roles alongside Anna Maria Mühe, Axel Stein, Dennis Mojen and Janina Uhse. Jeanne Goursaud shared news about her action thriller Exterritorial (working title) and Dimitrij Schaad brought the second season of Kleo to the stage. The award-winning series The Empress was also included, with Philip Froissant, Melika Foroutan and showrunner Katharina Eyssen providing first impressions of the second season.

In the eagerly awaited second season, protagonist Gi-Hun has to make a momentous decision. After receiving a mysterious phone call, he immediately embarks on a wild chase. In addition to Gi-Hun, other familiar characters such as the Front Man and the Salesman return in the new season. The series won six awards at the 74th Primetime Emmys, including Lee Jung-jae for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and Hwang Dong-hyuk was the first Asian to win Best Director. In Season 2, the visionary director and writer also takes on the role of producer.
