Netflix has today unveiled the official trailer and key art for Old Dog, New Tricks, the new comedy series starring Luis Zahera (The Beasts, Wrong Side of the Tracks) and Lucía Caraballo (I Don’t Like Driving), produced by Alea Media, which will arrive on Netflix on October 3rd.

Old Dog, New Tricks follows Antón (Luis Zahera), a country vet from Galicia who suddenly finds himself working in his niece Uxía’s (Lucía Caraballo) pet shop. As the two navigate their new reality, they’ll have to learn to adapt - and realize that when it comes to family and work, life isn’t always black and white.

Beyond this unlikely arrangement, in Old Dog, New Tricks the characters may not always bark or meow - but they come close. Pets, along with their owners, constantly put Antón to the test in moments that swing from touching to downright absurd. In Kawanda, it’s the animals who set the trends and steal the spotlight… reminding us that, in the end, it might be the humans who need more “training” than their pets.

The series also stars Carmen Ruiz (Love in Difficult Times) and Antonio Durán “Morris” (Cocaine Coast) as Sabela and Vicente Andrade. The cast is rounded out by Sergio Abelaira (The Fortune), Darío Loureiro (Rapa), Adrián Viador (Unauthorized Living), Raquel Nogueira (The New Years), Fer Fraga (30 Coins), and Nuno Gallego (Olympo).

Executive production is handled by Aitor Gabilondo (Patria, Muted, Yo, adicto) and Jota Aceytuno (Urban. La vida es nuestra). Direction comes from Alberto de Toro and Víctor García León, who also co-wrote the script alongside Ana Boyero, Araceli Álvarez de Sotomayor, Germán Aparicio, and Dani Castro (Ep. 1).

Filmed entirely in Galicia, Old Dog, New Tricks is set in the fictional rural village of Topomorto, recreated from various locations in municipalities of A Coruña such as Dioño, A Calle, Pontemaceira, Parroquia, Teo, and Vedra, as well as the city of Santiago de Compostela.
