Netflix has unveiled today the first image of the cast on the set of 'Breathless', the new fiction series created by Carlos Montero ('Élite', 'In Love All Over Again').

Produced by El Desorden Crea, the filming of this new project began last August at the Netflix production centre in Tres Cantos, where a hospital has been built and recreated inside one of the studios. The filming of this new series will last a total of 19 weeks, and will take place between Madrid and Valencia.

The main cast of 'Breathless' is made up of Najwa Nimri ('Money Heist', 'Holy Family'), Aitana Sánchez Gijón ('Parallel Mothers', 'The Boss'), Blanca Suárez ('Cable Girls', 'Jaguar'), Manu Ríos ('Élite', 'Muted'), Borja Luna ('Untameable', 'No Traces'), Ana Rayo ('Mercado Central', 'Madres. Amor y vida') and Alfonso Bassave ('Estoy vivo', 'Riot Police'). The cast is completed by Macarena de Rueda ('Matriz'), Blanca Martínez ('In Love All Over Again'), Abril Zamora ('The Mess You Lived Behind'), Xoán Fórneas ('Heridas'), Marwa Bakhat and Víctor Sáinz.

“When you see Manu, Blanca, Aitana, Ana, Xoan, Borja, Abril... working as doctors at the Joaquín Sorolla, I think you will want to come to this hospital if only to be treated for a cold. Or to walk through the immense corridors and get to know the rooms, the operating theatres and all the spaces that we have recreated in an ambitious and realistic way so that the Sorolla becomes one of the reference hospitals in today's fiction. We are looking forward to sharing it with you”, adds Carlos Montero, creator of the series.

About 'Breathless'

Biel is one of the residents who has been working in a public hospital for several months. Hundreds of shifts, thousands of hours, which barely leave him time for his life. But it is his vocation and he is willing to do whatever it takes to become the best doctor. What he does not imagine is that a total strike will break out in the hospital, with no minimum services. The doctors are forced to do this to try to raise public awareness of their essential work and to protest against all the intolerable cuts that the public health system is suffering. But Biel and the other residents do not know whether to go along with this strike that could have fatal consequences for patients. And from this conflict we will get to know each of them in their day to day life: who are these young people who go out of their way in the hospital, assuming excessive responsibility, and who are these adults willing to lose everything in order to fight for what they believe in?
