09 January 2023December was relatively steady in the Netflix ISP Speed Index, our monthly update on which Internet Service Providers provide the best prime time Netflix streaming experience. 213 ISPs moved up 0.2 Mbps from November’s results, 217 ISPs stayed the same, and two ISPs, Viettel and VNPT in Vietnam, saw a drop of 0.2 Mbps falling to 3.2 and 3.4 Mbps, respectively.
December also marked the addition of the Iliad Italia ISP in Italy. Iliad Italia debuted with 3.8 Mbps of speed, marking one of the top performances in Italy.
In total, 17 countries were in the top performance tier for December with an average speed of 3.8 Mbps; Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.
The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of prime time Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services or data that may travel across the specific ISP network. Faster Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times and fewer interruptions. We also created a separate tool to check your current download performance: Visit https://FAST.com on any internet browser or download the FAST Speed TestiOS or Android app.
