Netflix Drops the Gripping Trailer for ‘The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek’

Today, Netflix released the official trailer and key art for The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek. The highly anticipated sequel premieres globally on Netflix on May 7, 2026. 

A perpetrator playing a disturbing game of hide and seek reunites Mark Hess and Naia Thulin as the two detectives try to piece together twisted killings connected to a children's rhyme. 

A stellar ensemble cast – featuring Danica Curcic (Secrets We Keep), Mikkel Boe Følsgaard (Ehrengaard: The Art of Seduction), Sofie Gråbøl (The Killing) and Katinka Lærke Petersen (Maybe Baby) – leads this thrilling standalone sequel following the success of The Chestnut Man.

ABOUT THE CHESTNUT MAN: HIDE AND SEEK

Synopsis: A 41-year-old woman is reported missing, and when the police unravel her digital footprints, it becomes evident that she has been stalked for months. An unidentified perpetrator has been playing an involuntary game of hide and seek, surveilling her while sending her not only images and videos but also a seemingly innocent nursery rhyme-style counting song. When the woman is later found murdered, it becomes evident that this case can be linked to a similar, unsolved murder case of a 17-year-old high school student who was found murdered two years ago. But what is the connection between the two victims? And when will the perpetrator begin to “play” hide and seek again?

Mark Hess and Naia Thulin yet again lead the investigation, but the relationship between the two detectives is complicated.
