Netflix Celebrates LGBTQ+ Storytelling with "Pride Down Under" Collection and Never-Before-Streamed Aussie Releases

Netflix has your Pride plans sorted with Pride Down Under, a curated special collection of over 180 films, series and specials that put a spotlight on the diverse spectrum of new, extended and classic LGBTQ+ stories, identities and expressions hailing from Australia and beyond. 

The collection is available on Netflix from February 17  and showcases new-to-Netflix films, shows and documentaries. These include:

• Kath & Kim - OUR Effluent Life - With Extra Effluent, a special extended version of the 20th Anniversary event with never-before-seen extras exclusive to Netflix

• Kath & Kim - 20 Preposterous Years - Warts & All,a film that reflects on the show’s legacy and cultural impact

• Ellie & Abbie (& Ellie's Dead Aunt), an AACTA award winning rom-com set in the complex world of high school 

• Girl Like You which explores the real, raw and confronting reality of transitioning

• Between a Frock and a Hard Place, a story behind one of the world's most cherished films, The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert

The collection also features other Aussie LGBTQ+ stories that are already available on Netflix such as  Heartbreak High, which was nominated for multiple GLAAD awards, Dreamlife of Georgie Stone, Hannah Gadsby: Nanette, Emmy winner Love on the Spectrum, Please Like Me, Coming Back Out Ball, Teenage Kicks and more! With can’t-miss global favorites like Heartstopper, Bohemian Rhapsody, Disclosure, Fear Street Trilogy, Grace & Frankie, Halston, Queer Eye, RuPaul’s Drag Race and Schitt’s Creek are also included.
