Netflix Announces TEAR ALONG THE DOTTED LINE, the Italian original Netflix animated series written and directed by ZEROCALCARE

Netflix announces the start of production for TEAR ALONG THE DOTTED LINE, the Italian original Netflix animation series written and directed by Zerocalcare, pseudonym of the popular Italian cartoonist Michele Rech, which will be soon launched on the service. 

Produced by Movimenti Production in collaboration with BAO Publishing, Tear Along the Dotted Line is the first animation series by Zerocalcare and it will be set in his well-known narrative universe, featuring cult characters like Secco, Sarah, his friend the Boar and the iconic Armadillo, voiced by Valerio Mastandrea. 

“I've been around animation for a long time, even having a lot of fun experimenting, doing everything by myself,” explains Zerocalcare. “At the same time, I wanted to raise the bar, using more the video medium in terms of direction and movement, but keeping my language and my topics, continuing to have total control over the story. Considering this, Netflix put me in the right position, allowing me to keep all these elements together:  the absolute freedom in content and languages and the possibility of collaborating with people more capable than me to tell a story on a platform that is now practically accessible by everybody. We hope that when the series is out the world will be more or less as we know it.”
