Get ready to feel every note, every struggle, and every triumph. On May 8, KAROL G: Tomorrow Was Beautiful arrives on Netflix. This film follows the artist’s journey from her career’s beginning in Medellín to global stardom, accompanying her throughout her record-breaking stadium tour  “Mañana Será Bonito”.

The official trailer reveals an exciting preview of the exclusive footage, vulnerable moments, and unforgettable memories captured from the artist’s latest tour. This production is a love letter to all the fans who have sung her songs, filled stadiums, and supported her career.

The feature-length documentary is directed and produced by Emmy Award-winner Cristina Costantini (Mucho Mucho Amor: The Legend of Walter Mercado, Science Fair) and produced by This Machine’s (a part of Sony Pictures Television) R.J. Cutler, Elise Pearlstein, and Trevor Smith, and Bichota Films in  association with Interscope Films. Other producers include Kristofer Ríos, Alex Simmons, and Mariem Pérez, with co-producer Sofía Vanegas Cardona from Bichota Films. Mark Blatty and Margaret Yen serve as executive producers alongside John Janick and Nir Seroussi from Interscope Capitol.

It’s a rare look at the unique determination, talent, and relentless work ethic that has launched KAROL G to superstardom and paved a path for future generations of Latinas.

About Cristina Costantini

Director Cristina Costantini returns to Netflix with her second feature documentary, KAROL G: Tomorrow Was Beautiful, premiering this spring. This follows her critically acclaimed, award-winning feature Mucho Mucho Amor, which was purchased by Netflix at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, and went on to nominations from the News & Documentary Emmys as well as being honored as Best Documentary of the Year by the Imagen Foundation Awards and the Latino Entertainment Journalist Association Film Awards. 

Costantini recently returned to SUNDANCE for a third time with the premiere SALLY, based on the life of Sally Ride. She was previously at the 2018 Sundance Festival with her debut film, Science Fair, about the competitive world of high school science fairs (co-directed with Darren Foster) and in 2020 with Mucho Mucho Amor (co-directed with Kareem Tabsch).  

Costantini got her start as an award-winning investigative journalist, covering detention centers, immigration, and the opioid crisis. She has received numerous awards from the National Association of Hispanic Journalists for her work, as well as a DuPont Award and several Emmy nominations. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Costantini is a graduate of Yale University. She now lives in Los Angeles with her husband Alfie, daughter Penny, and elderly pug dog Harriet.
