​Jeff Daniels, Merritt Wever, Jeremy Bobb and Thomas Brodie-Sangster have been added to the cast of 'Godless,' the limited series for Netflix.

  • Jeff Daniels will play Frank Griffin, the menacing leader of notorious gang. Searching for Roy Goode (Jack O'Connell), once like a son to him, now his mortal enemy.
  • Merritt Wever portrays Mary Agnes, the brash widow of the late mayor of Le Belle, NM, a town where all of the men have died in a mining accident.
  • Jeremy Bobb plays A.T. Grigg, the editor of the Santa Fe Dailey Review, who has been obsessed for years with writing about the Griffin Gang.
  • Thomas Brodie-Sangster portrays Whitey Winn, the town deputy. Devoted to both books and the sheriff. Afraid of no one, but still a boy more than a man, has a lot to learn.

About Jeff Daniels:

Actor, musician, and playwright Jeff Daniels is known for his roles in such films as Terms of Endearment, The Purple Rose of Cairo, Arachnophobia, Dumb & Dumber, The Hours, The Squid and the Whale, and Good Night and Good Luck, as well as his Emmy Award-winning performance on HBO’s The Newsroom.

Daniels can currently be seen on his return to Broadway in 2016’s Blackbird, alongside Michelle Williams where he recently received a Tony nomination for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a play. The show itself and his co-star Williams also received nominations.

His most recent projects include part 1 of The Divergent Series: Allegiant, alongside Shailene Woodley and Theo James, 20th Century-Fox’s The Martian, directed by Ridley Scott, and Universal’s Steve Jobs, directed by Danny Boyle. Daniels has received many prestigious nominations over the course of his long career, including four Golden Globes, four SAG Awards, and two Emmys.

Alongside screen work, Daniels has many stage credits to his name and is the founder of The Purple Rose Theater Company in Chelsea, Michigan. On Broadway, he has appeared in Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage for which his performance earned a 2009 Tony Award nomination for Best Actor, A. R. Gurney’s The Golden Age, Lanford Wilson’s Redwood Curtain, and Wilson’s Fifth of July. He has appeared off Broadway in productions of Wilson’s Lemon Sky and Bradley Rand Smith’s adaptation of Johnny Got His Gun.

Daniels is also a musician and songwriter, and has recorded six full length albums.

Originally from Ohio, Jeremy Bobb is best known as ‘Herman Barrow’ on Steven Soderbergh’s series The Knick with Clive Owen. He has worked steadily in film, television and theater for over a decade. The Bridge Project Richard III was a professional and personal highlight. Other credits include Is He Dead? and Translations (both on Broadway), and roles in Boardwalk Empire, House of Cards and Mr. Robot. Upcoming is the HBO project Mosaic with Garrett Hedlund.

About Thomas Brodie-Sangster:

Thomas Brodie-Sangster boasts a long and diverse list of film and television credits in the US and the UK. Thomas can most recently be seen in the leading role of ‘Newt’ in the Fox studio feature The Maze Runner, with the sequel Scorch Trials to be released at the end of 2015. He is also currently shooting the third film in this series, having been in the first two. He completed his role of"Jojen Reed" in Season 4 of HBO’s Game Of Thrones. He was recently featured in The Baytown Disco across from Billy Bob Thornton and Eva Longoria. The multi-talented Thomas also voices the lead character of ‘Ferb’ in Disney’s breakout animated series Phineas and Ferb. Additional works include Love Actually opposite Liam Neeson, and Nanny McPhee across from Colin Firth and Emma Thompson. Thomas can currently be seen in the critically acclaimed BBC mini-series Wolf Hall.
