Three series start production in Mexico this 2023

Three stories for all tastes and which will keep us enthralled in 2024 are cooking up at Netflix Mexico. Directors Ernesto Contreras (Where the Tracks End), Klych López (Fake Profile) and Gracia Querejeta (The Invisible), screenwriter Leonardo Padrón (The Marked Heart), and producer Mark Alazraki (Club de Cuervos) will captivate us with these series starting production in Mexico this year.

For drama lovers, comes Para siempre, starring Diego Calva. In this moving story set in Oaxaca, two very different boys –Erik and Manuel– are the sole witnesses to an unexpected death, a secret that makes their friendship unbreakable. Twenty years later, their paths cross again, but their differences are even greater: Erik now finds Sicarú, a woman. They will both have to face the great secret of their past, putting their friendship to the test. Created by Alberto Barrera, directed by Ernesto Contreras, Alba Gil, and Alex Zuno, and produced by Perro Azul. Para siempre is now in production.

A tragic accident in Accidente will test our protagonists and their loved ones, whose resilience will lead them down the road to overcoming irreparable losses and moving forward in search of a better future. Starring Ana Claudia Talancón, Sebastián Martínez, Macarena García, Alberto Guerra, Eréndira Ibarra, Sebastián Dante, Regina Blandón, Erik Hayser, Erick Elías, Shaní Lozano, Silverio Palacios, Rubén Zamora, Valentina Acosta, Giuseppe Gamba, Horacio García R., Mauricio Isaac and Luis Ernesto Franco, among others. Created by Leonardo Padrón, Accidente is directed by Gracia Querejeta and Klych López, and produced by Mar Abierto Productions.

Finally, we will all become part of Cristina and Luciana’s family in Bienvenidos a la familia. These two erratic single moms must join forces and set their differences aside to hide the body and forge the will of Gonzalo “the Tyrant” –Cristina’s father and Luciana’s current husband– without the nosy neighbor, a lovesick cop, and a psycho former football coach finding out. This series will have us laughing along with its stars, Erika Buenfil and Marimar Vega. Written by Silvia Ortega Vettoretti, Pablo Aramendi, Andreina Borges, and Pablo Ortíz; directed by Mark Alazraki and Jorge Macaya (Queens on the Run), Bienvenidos a la familia is produced by Alazraki Entertainment (Club de Cuervos).
