Familia

Leo owns an olive ranch in the Guadalupe Valley. He also has four children: Rebeca, Julia,  Mariana, and Benny. Each month he brings the family together for a catch-up, but this time, there is another more important reason to meet. 

We will discover the secrets, memories, dreams, and motivations of each member of the family, as we delve deeper into the most private and complex aspects of family relationships

Familia is the first movie in Spanish by acclaimed Colombian-Mexican filmmaker Rodrigo García (Raymond & Ray), who has imprinted his ambitious personal stamp on a universal story, starring Daniel Giménez Cacho (BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths), Ilse Salas (The Good Girls), Cassandra Ciangherotti (Thursday’s Widows), Natalia Solián (Huesera), and Maribel Verdú (Pan’s Labyrinth), among others. Produced by Gerardo Gatica (Museo, I’m No Longer Here) and Pablo Zimbrón (Ready to Mingle, Tragic Jungle), written by García himself and Bárbara Colio.

SYNOPSIS:  Every month, Leo’s family joins him at his olive ranch in the Guadalupe Valley. His daughters Rebeca, Julia, and Mariana come to visit their father and younger brother Benny, who has Down syndrome. At lunch, Leo shares the news of a possible buyer who has made a significant offer for the ranch. The family has but a few days to decide if they are willing to sell the place where they grew up and that holds the memories of their dead mother.
