Netflix has announced its new film e EL CAMPEÓN, a touching history set in the football world and starred by Marcel Serrano and Dani Rovira

Carlos Therón, director of films such as Fenómenas, Lo dejo cuando quiera (I Can Quit Whenever I Want), and Es por tu bien (It’s for your Own Good), gets behind the camera in this film about two characters doomed to understand each other and set in the dizzying world of football. 

Actor and singer Marcel Serrano (Fanático) plays Diego, a young football superstar with an impulsive character, and Dani Rovira -Goya winner for 8 apellidos vascos (Spanish Affair)- plays Álex, an introverted teacher in charge of bringing Diego back to his senses. The cast is completed by Pablo Chiapella (La que se avecina), Luis Fernández (Los protegidos), Cintia García (El juego de las llaves)and Carlos Librado “Nene” (Operación Camarón).  

Synopsis

Diego has just been voted best young European player and at the age of 20 he is on his way to making his team, Atlético de Madrid, La Liga champions. But his impulsive and conflictive character makes the Club, fed up with his excesses, hire Alex, a withdrawn and lonely psychology professor, to improve his behavior. Both will have no choice but to learn to understand each other.
