'Confessions Of An Invisible Girl,' a movie based on the Best-Selling novel by author Thalita Rebouças, premieres September 22

Confessions Of An Invisible Girl

São Paulo, August 5, 2021. Adolescence can be chaos: there’s school, family, friends (and enemies)—not to mention unrequited love. Life gets really complicated at this age, and even more so if your name is Tetê do Cecê, like the character played by Klara Castanho in the movie Confessions of An Invisible Girl. Based on the fun best-seller Confissões de Uma Garota Excluída, Mal-amada e (Um Pouco) Dramática, by author Thalita Rebouças, the new Brazilian series from Netflix has just released new images, along with its premiere date: September 22.

Sixteen-year-old Tetê doesn’t feel like she fits in at school or at home. When her unemployed parents have to move from Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro, to her grandparents’ house in Copacabana, she has to start over at a new school. She will do anything not to be bullied again, and who knows, maybe even make some friends and have a social life. The popular kids Valentina (Júlia Gomes) and Laís (Fernanda Concon) won’t make it easy. But her equally invisible peers Davi (Gabriel Lima) and Zeca (Marcus Bessa) could become her allies, and even help open the door for romance.

The young cast includes stars Lucca Picon and Caio Cabral along with Kiria Malheiros. And Tetê’s hilarious family is played by a heavy-hitting cast: Júlia Rabello, Stepan Nercessian, Rosane Gofman and Alcemar Vieira will entertain not just teenagers, but the whole family.

Produced for Netflix by Panorâmica, Confessions of An Invisible Girl was directed by Bruno Garotti (Ricos de Amor (Rich in Love)), the name behind a number of hit Brazilian movies. The screenplay was written by Bruno with Thalita Rebouças (Pai em Dobro (Double Dad)), Flávia Lins and Christiana Oliveira. The series was produced by Mara Lobão e Rodrigo Montenegro, with executive producers Vanessa Jardim and Augusto Medeiros.
