It captured the emotions faced by so many working mothers - the struggles, the challenges, the hustle, and the strength.
On June 1, Global Day of Parents, we are proud to present Like a Mother, a new documentary series about the experiences of working mothers, as they forge new paths, break stereotypes, overcome challenges, and push for progress in vocations that have been historically male-dominated or deemed incompatible with motherhood.
@NetflixFamily celebrates the stories of all families and through this series shows the real side of parenting. Like A Mother focuses on individual working moms in three challenging fields – medicine, firefighting, and aerospace.
Meet our mothers:
Dr. Jelyn Lu, Thousand Oaks, Calif., a physician and a mother of three balancing family, a career, and the demands of being both a doctor and a patient.
Fire Captain Lauren Andrade, Orange County, Calif., is fighting fires and fighting to juggle kids, gender norms, mothers’ rights in the workplace.
Coming Soon: Dr. Karen Nyberg, Houston, Tex., a retired astronaut shuffling between sustainability work and motherhood. Dr. Anna Fisher, the first mom in space, will also make a special appearance in Dr. Nyberg’s episode.
