Ryusei Yokohama from The Journalist won the Best Newcomer award at the Asia Content Awards. A video of Yokohama's award-winning comment was shown at the award ceremony.

The Journalist was nominated in three categories: Best Drama, Best Actor (Ryoko Yonekura) and Newcomer (Ryusei Yokohama).
