10 August 2026Production has officially begun on Ad Vitam Eternam , the sequel to the 2025 film Ad Vitam, starring Guillaume Canet, which is the #9 most popular non-English movie on Netflix.
Guillaume Canet returns as former GIGN agent, Franck Lazareff. After surviving an assassination attempt upon his release from prison, Franck sets out to find out who wants him dead. He goes to hide away with his family in the mountains. But French intelligence services track him down and offer him a deal: a covert mission in exchange for the truth Franck is seeking.
Directed by Ludovic Colbeau-Justin (Néro: The Assassin), the movie has been written by Guillaume Canet and Maxime Chattam, with the collaboration of David Corona.
The announcement comes at an exciting period for Netflix's French slate, with Call My Agent: The Movie releasing on September 10th, and Lupin returning on October 23rd. Quasimodo, the reimagining of life of the man said to have inspired Victor Hugo’s iconic character, comes to Netflix later this year, starring Vincent Cassel.
