27 November 2023São Paulo, November 27, 2023 — “Without a doubt, I was my own worst hater,” reveals Luísa Sonza, one of Brazil's biggest pop stars, in the trailer for If I Were Luísa Sonza, the documentary series released December 13 on Netflix. To help the audience get to know her story and understand the deep complexity of the artist, the episodes feature testimonies from relatives, professionals from her team and from the music industry, such as her artistic director Flávio Verne, Fatima Pissara (entrepreneur and CEO of Mynd8), Zé Ricardo (curator of Rock in Rio and The Town), in addition to her family, friends and ex-husband, Whindersson Nunes.
The trailer offers a glimpse of a life that rides like a rollercoaster, with a series of ups and downs and some controversies, including breaking national records and overcoming relationship breakdowns. The series also touches on her mental health crises amid internet attacks — sparking reflection about how online hate has affected her mental well-being and threatened her personal safety and that of those around her.
