WE ALL HAVE 6 SHOWS IN COMMON

We have always believed entertainment is a fundamental human need; it changes how we feel and gives us common ground. But just how much do we have in common? Turns out, when it comes to Netflix, you’re likely to share 6 shows in common with any other member, anywhere in the world. Which means you could bump into a Netflix member in Seoul, Sao Paulo, New York or even Antarctica and have six shows you have both watched!

And it’s not just shows - it’s everything from stand-up specials to documentaries. Guaranteeing you’ll have something good to talk about: whether it’s discussing your confusing feelings for Ted Bundy with a stranger on a plane or weighing up the merits of Kondo’ing your underwear drawer with people you just met at a party.

While the ‘most-likely-to-have-in-common’ titles include big name US-produced series and film hits like Stranger Things and Bird Box, it also includes the Spanish language La Casa De Papel, as well as urban fantasy crime movie Bright. The episodic dystopian sci-fi Black Mirror and holiday family favorite The Christmas Chronicles - highlighting the diversity and breadth of content we’re able to connect with others over.

We're calling this connection the '6 Degrees of Netflix,' and we want the world to put it to the test. SO next time you’re in line at the grocery checkout or taking a cab to a friend’s house, give it a go - and let us know how you get on @netflix.
