13 July 2022Netflix today released the trailer and official key art for The Girl in the Mirror, its new supernatural thriller that premieres worldwide on August 19. The Girl in the Mirror is a story about the search for identity through an emotional, mysterious and unexpected plot.
Created by by Sergio G. Sánchez (Marrowbone) and directed by himself together with Kike Maíllo (EVA), Alma was filmed almost entirely in the Principality of Asturias and has a very choral cast headed by Mireia Oriol (Les de l'hoquei), Alex Villazán (Caronte), Pol Monen (Who Would You Take to a Deserted Island?), Claudia Roset (SKAM), Javier Morgade (El nudo), Nil Cardoner (Les de l'hoquei), María Caballero (The Ministry of Time) and Milena Smit (Cross the Line). The cast is completed by Elena Irureta, Marta Belaustegui, Josean Bengoetxea, Cándido Uranga, Katia R. Borlado, Ximena Vera, Celia Sastre, Laura Ubach, Raúl Tejón and Alejandro Serrano.
Sospecha Films produces this new 9-episode series for Netflix that tells the story of The Girl in the Mirror, who after surviving a bus accident in which almost all of her classmates die, wakes up in a hospital with no memory of the incident... or of her past. Her house is full of memories that are not hers, and both amnesia and trauma cause her to experience night terrors and suffer from visions that she cannot unravel. With the help of her parents and friends, unknown to her, she will try to uncover the mystery surrounding the accident while struggling to regain her life and her identity.
