SENNA 103-SC107 0023 R

This Sunday (27), the winners of the 2025 PLATINO Awards were announced during a ceremony held in Madrid, Spain. Senna, a Netflix miniseries, won the award for Best Series Creator, honoring Vicente Amorim, Fernando Coimbra, Luiz Bolognesi and Patrícia Andrade.

The production was also nominated in three other categories: Best Miniseries or TV Series (Fiction or Documentary), Best Male Performance in a Miniseries with Gabriel Leone as Ayrton Senna, and Best Supporting Male Performance in a Miniseries with Hugo Bonemer as Nelson Piquet.

Over six episodes, Senna depicts, for the first time in fiction, the journey of overcoming, misunderstandings, joys, and sorrows of Ayrton, exploring his personality and personal relationships. The story begins with the start of the three-time Formula 1 champion's racing career, from karting to his move to England to compete in Formula Ford, and continues up to the tragic accident in Imola, Italy, during the San Marino Grand Prix.

Senna reached the #1 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 for non-English language series. Produced by Gullane, with the support of Senna Brands and the driver’s family, the miniseries is directed by Vicente Amorim—who also serves as showrunner—alongside director Julia Rezende.
