17 September 2020São Paulo, September 17th, 2020. Over The Moon, Netflix movie to be released on October 23th, will have its theme song sang by one of the most delicate and powerful voices nowadays in Brazil: Priscilla Alcântara. The artist sings “Vou Voar” and embodies the dream of the girl Fei Fei of reaching the moon. Directed by the legend of animation Glen Keane, the plot revolves around the power of children's imagination and the importance of moving forward, even in the face of the unexpected.
Considered one of the greatest names in gospel music, the Latin Grammy nominee Priscilla Alcântara, 24, recognizes in the character Fei Fei some traces of her own personality. “We have in common our determination and faith. I think Fei Fei is a real inspiration”, says the singer. Priscilla also highlights the power that music has, especially for children, in helping to deal with new and difficult feelings. "Passing along such universal values through music has enormous strength. Music connects people with themselves and with those around them and allows us to better understand what we are feeling."
According to Priscilla, who has already hosted a kids TV show for eight years, her return to doing work dedicated to children and families brings back beautiful experiences in her memory. “I was flattered by the invitation, especially since it is a film that addresses such relevant and light topics, such as family ties, women's empowerment and children's creativity. All of us, as children, went through important moments of discovery that the film and music portray so well", adds the singer.
The Brazilian version of the song “Fly Away” ("Vou Voar") will be available on digital platforms from September 25th on.
