08 October 2026Netflix unveiled the main trailer and key art for Overacting, an outrageously chaotic comedy that pulls audiences into a world of full-throttle laughter, high-flying action, and heart, alongside one burning question: how far would you go for the ones you love?
Director Prueksa Amaruji and executive producer Rergchai Poungpetch — the team behind comedy hits Bikeman and Riam Fighting Angel — brought together a dream team of Thailand’s beloved stars, known for their natural comedic charms: Teng Terd Terng, Bow Maylada Susri, Kong Huayrai, and Joke So Cool. Each steps into roles that showcase entirely new, unseen sides of their talent.
The main trailer offers a vivid look into this madness, with dramatic mid-air fight sequences, fake missions, and high-energy comedy. Drawing inspiration from the high energy of Bollywood cinema, the film sees everyday reality turn into an unhinged, stress-relieving comedy spectacle. This unstoppable madness streams worldwide on November 5, only on Netflix.
On top of all the laughs, the main trailer also reveals a glimpse into just how “extra” the production scale truly is, from meticulously detailed sets to a wave of ambitious creative choices. Executive Producer Rergchai Poungpetch said the unrestrained scale was designed to deliver pure, feel-good entertainment. “Injecting that signature Bollywood energy elevates the fun to a whole new level. Without any creative boundaries, our production team was free to unleash their most extravagant ideas to create something refreshing that lets audiences leave all their stress behind.”
Director Prueksa Amaruji said that just seeing the cast’s faces together is already a guarantee of laughs. “Our top priority was finding actors with natural comedic instincts loved by the Thai public, but giving them something totally new to do,” said Prueksa. “From Teng playing a full-on dad cop, to Bow in a provincial girl look, Joke as an aged-up yet endlessly cheeky villain, and Kong Huayrai playing a hilarious traffic cop, bringing their unique styles of humor together created an effortless, perfectly balanced chemistry.”
Comedy icon Teng Terd Terng shared his impressions on filming, calling it one of the most dedicated and challenging comedic acting experiences of his career. For him, playing Inspector Winai meant diving headfirst into massive scale, elaborate wirework, and extravagant combat moves. “From the very first day I walked onto the set, I was blown away.
The production team built an Indian-inspired market set so elaborate, it felt like a world of its own. Seeing a production of this magnitude, I knew I had to give it my absolute all, from high-flying wirework to full-on overacting. I even asked the director to set the wire rig higher for maximum impact. Everyone in the cast gave 100% because we were all inspired by a team putting so much heart into the craft.”
Bow Maylada Susri, who plays Woranuch, Winai’s devoted daughter, revealed that her character in this comedy stands apart from any comedic role she’s taken on before. “Even though Overacting is a full-fledged comedy, my role comes from a deeply serious, heartfelt place. She is on a mission to do whatever it takes, no matter how dramatic or extreme, to bring happiness to her father whose memory is fading. Her comedy stems from going to outrageous lengths out of pure love for her family.”
At the center of Overacting is Winai (Teng Terd Terng), a legendary retired tough cop whose slipping memories send him back to his glory days and an unfinished grudge against his elusive arch-nemesis, Sua Hao (Joke So Cool). Desperate to protect her father, his daughter Woranuch (Bow Maylada Susri), a struggling actress, rallies her traffic-cop ex-flame Sergeant Toy (Kong Huayrai), and her gang of friends, Xing (Thank Afteryum), Khe (Teerawat Budtaya or Dutdew), and Bo (Lattapon Rujirojjindakul or Jinajames), to stage over-the-top fake crime-busting missions. However, their fake missions spiral into hilarious, action-packed chaos as the gang must dodge the real police, Padej (Punk Prakasit Bosuvarn) and Inspector Pao (Jdum Suppachai Hanumas), who are keeping a close eye on the situation, all while the real Sua Hao resurfaces to commit actual crimes once again.
Forget reality, and prepare for an explosion of comedy and non-stop laughter with Overacting, premiering on November 5, only on Netflix.
