Netflix Unveils Trailer for Swedish Period Drama Film, ‘The Swedish Connection’

• Stockholm, January 19, 2026 -Today, Netflix revealed the trailer for the Swedish period drama ‘The Swedish Connection’. The film will premiere in selected Swedish theaters February 6, and launch globally on Netflix February 19. 

• Written and directed by Thérèse Ahlbeck and Marcus Olsson, 'The Swedish Connection’ is Netflix's first Nordic period drama film based on a true story set during World War II.

• The cast features Henrik Dorsin, Sissela Benn, Jonas Karlsson, Marianne Mörck, Johan Glans, Jonas Malmsjö, among others.

ABOUT THE SWEDISH CONNECTION 

SYNOPSIS: Stockholm 1942. In a dank basement stacked with Jewish visa pleas, a timid official and his legal team must confront a difficult decision: save lives or risk invasion by Nazi Germany. But as their superiors turn a blind eye to the continued persecution of Jews, the team arm themselves with paperwork, loopholes and mild manners to fight fascism with bureaucracy. Based on the little-known true story of an unlikely war hero during one of history’s darkest periods.
