Netflix Unveils Premiere Date and First Look for ‘The Storm’ – Premiering on October 15

Today, Netflix revealed the launch date and first look for the highly anticipated Swedish comedy The Storm, written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Josephine Bornebusch, who also stars in it. The film is set to premiere globally on Netflix on October 15, 2026.

The Storm is a tense, character-driven dark comedy set during Filip’s 45th birthday dinner at a lavish newly purchased farm in northern Sweden. When a violent storm hits, trapping Filip and his closest friends inside, their polished facades quickly crumble, long-buried secrets surface, and raw emotions erupt as the gravity of the situation becomes impossible to ignore.

The film is produced by WBITVP Sweden and features a starstudded cast such as Gustaf Skarsgård, Aliette Opheim, Filip Berg, Josephine Bornebusch, Jonas Karlsson, Johan Rheborg, Christopher Wagelin, Sara Shirpey, Gizem Erdogan, Henrik Dorsin, Nils Wetterholm, and Nicole Levin.

ABOUT THE STORM Synopsis: Filip is turning 45, and has invited his closest friends for dinner at his and his wife’s lavish and newly bought farm estate up north in Sweden. What they don’t know is that a ferocious storm is on its way and that they’ll be trapped together. Their polished acts fall, and an unfiltered meltdown starts. When the panic starts to creep in and they all realise the seriousness of the situation, the farm starts to shrink, secrets spill out, and unexpected feelings take shape.
