NETFLIX PRESENTS A PREVIEW OF ITS SPANISH PRODUCTION FOR THE UPCOMING MONTHS

IN ITS CONTINUED COMMITMENT TO STORY DIVERSITY, NETFLIX ANNOUNCES SIX NEW PROJECTS:

• Two fiction series: The silence, created by Aitor Gabilondo, and Smiley (pending final title), an adaptation of Guillem Clua's play produced by Minoría Absoluta. 

• The feature films Infiesto (pending final title), written and directed by Patxi Amézcua and starring Isak Ferriz and Iria del Río, and Nowhere (pending final title), directed by Albert Pintó and starring Anna Castillo.

• The reality show ¿A quién le gusta mi follower?, with Luján Argüelles, Jedet, Aroyitt and Jonan Wiergo; and the docuseries ¿Dónde está Marta?, directed by Paula Cons.

Netflix presented today a preview of what will be its programming for the upcoming months. In addition, it has announced some Spanish projects that are currently in production and development and that make up a diverse offer of genres and formats -with movies, series and reality shows-, as well as unveiled new information, announcements and materials of some of its upcoming releases.

Regarding the production of new content, the following projects have been announced: 

In the area of series: The silence, a production by Aitor Gabilondo (Patria), founder of Alea Media; and Smiley (pending final title), a comedy adapted from the play of the same title by Guillem Clúa, produced by Minoría Absoluta for Netflix.

In non-fiction: ¿A quién le gusta mi follower? A new dating show hosted by Luján Argüelles, which will also feature the special participation of Jedet, Aroyitt and Jonan Wiergo; and ¿Dónde está Marta?, the docuseries directed by Paula Cons and produced by Cuarzo Producciones that arrives on Netflix on November 5 and analyzes one of the most paradigmatic and unusual criminal cases in our country, twelve years after the disappearance of Marta del Castillo. 

As for films: Infiesto (pending final title), written and directed by Patxi Amezcua, starring Isak Férriz and Iria del Río and produced by Vaca Films, which starts production today, October 28, in Gijón. The story begins the first day of the state of alarm, where two detectives are called to a small mining town in the Asturian mountains where a young woman who had been left for dead for months has appeared. As the world crumbles and personal tragedies strike everywhere, the detectives soon realize that the virus might not be the only dark force at work.

And Nowhere (pending final title), a film directed by Albert Pintó, starring Anna Castillo and produced by Miguel Ruz. In the near future, Nada, a young pregnant woman, escapes from a country at war by hiding in a maritime container aboard a cargo ship. Halfway through the trip, a violent storm throws the container into the sea. Trapped in the metal coffin, Nada gives birth to her daughter. Now, weakened by childbirth, adrift, without food or water, she must fight to survive and save the child. 

New information and materials

In addition, new information and materials for the following titles have been unveiled during the presentation:

• Confirmation of the third and final season of Valeria (video), the series based on the novels by Elísabet Benavent and starring Diana Gómez, Silma López, Paula Malia, Teresa Riott and Maxi Iglesias. 

• The cast of Hasta el cielo, the adaptation of Daniel Calparsoro's film. This new series will continue the story of a gang of thieves who managed to put the Madrid police force in check. As in the feature film, Daniel Calparsoro will be in charge of the direction and Jorge Guerricaechevarría will sign the script of this new fiction starring Luis Tosar, Asia Ortega, Álvaro Rico, Alana Porra, Patricia Vico, Ayax Pedrosa, Dollar Selmouni, Richard Holmes and Carmen Sánchez. 

• The main cast of La chica de nieve, the adaptation of the novel of the same name by Javier Castillo. The action will move from New York to Malaga, during the traditional Cavalcade of the Magi. Milena Smit (Madres paralelas, Alma) will play the journalist investigating the disappearance of a young girl. 

• Feria: la luz más oscura will be released in January 2022. The thriller, created by Agustín Martínez and Carlos Montero and directed by Jorge Dorado and Carles Torrens, stars Carla Campra, Ana Tomeno, Isak Férriz, Marta Nieto, Ángela Cremonte, Patricia López and Ernest Villegas, among others. The first images are already available. 

• Renovation of ELITE for a sixth season. Our students from Las Encinas are back with stories full of intrigue, secrets and excitement. Their creators Carlos Montero and Jaime Vaca will take us even further into the ELITE universe.

• ELITE: Short Stories comes back with a new season: Holidays Edition. The first images are already available. 

• Cast and synopsis of Untitled Bird Box project. From the producers of the global phenomenon, Bird Box, comes the untitled Bird Box project, an expansion of the universe that riveted audiences in 2018. After a mysterious force decimates the world’s population by causing all who see it to take their lives, Sebastian and his young daughter Anna must navigate their own journey of survival through the desolate streets of Barcelona. But as they form an uneasy alliance with other survivors and make their way toward a safe haven, a threat more sinister than the unseen creatures grows. The principal photography of this ambitious project will start in the upcoming weeks in Barcelona, directed by Àlex and David Pastor and starring Mario Casas, Georgina Campbell, Diego Calva, Alejandra Howard, Naila Schuberth, Patrick Criado, Celia Freijeiro, with Lola Dueñas, Gonzalo de Castro, Michelle Jenner y Leonardo Sbaraglia.

• Teaser tráiler of Through my window, the film based on the global best-selling literary phenomenon written by Ariana Godoy and directed by Marçal Fores, coming to Netflix on February 4. 

• The first images of Amor de madre, the comedy directed by Paco Caballero, starring Carmen Machi and Quim Gutiérrez and produced by Morena Film and Lab Cinema, which will arrive on Netflix in spring 2022 and whose cast is completed by Yolanda Ramos and Justina Bustos.
