About Luz: The Light of the Heart Raised in a Kaingang community since infancy, Luz is an orphan who is not indigenous herself, and who brims with determination and knowledge rooted in the values she has learned. She was hidden there by Baltazar, one of her grandfather Carlos's henchmen, after her grandfather blamed her for the events that led to the death of his son. Baltazar snatched her from the maternity ward, saving her life. For years, he kept her existence a secret while watching her grow. Now, 9 years later, Carlos learns the truth and begins to search for Luz, who flees and hides at a boarding school. At school, along with her new friends, she will be able to solve some of the mysteries about her origins.
