02 June 2025Netflix today announced the start of shooting for its new film La desconocida, a thriller starring Candela Peña (El caso Asunta, Hierro), Ana Rujas (La Mesías, Cardo) and Pol López (La furgo, Nos vemos en otra vida).
The cast is completed by Manolo Solo (Una quinta portuguesa, Tarde para la ira) and Kira Miró (Machos alfa, ¿Quién es Quién?), among others. Directed by Gabe Ibáñez and written by Lara Sendim, it’s an adaptation of the novel by Rosa Montero and Olivier Truc, published by French editorial POINTS and ALFAGUARA (Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial) in Spain.
Produced by K&S Films (El Eternauta, Relatos salvajes), with Matías Mosteirín and Pola Zito as executive producers, this film will be shot in Barcelona and Algeciras.
The film tells the story of a woman (Ana Rujas) who is found gagged by the police inside a container at the port of Barcelona. Unable to remember her identity, she is taken to the hospital, where her life is once again in danger following an attempted murder. Detective Anna Ripoll (Candela Peña) is assigned to investigate this mysterious case alongside officer Quique Zárate (Pol López). Together, they embark on a race against time to uncover the identity of this enigmatic woman and the secrets hidden within her memory.
