21 September 2022Ni una más, based on the novel of the same title by Miguel Sáez Carral and starring Nicole Wallace and Clara Galle
Netflix today announced its new project,Ni una más, a teen drama based on the novel by Miguel Sáez Carral, starring Nicole Wallace (Alma) and Clara Galle (Greta) and produced by DLO Producciones for Netflix.
With the premise of Alma, the protagonist of Ni una más, "Careful. A rapist is hiding in there", begins this shocking story that shows the helplessness and loneliness suffered by victims of sexual aggression.
In the words of its creator Miguel Sáez Carral, he says: "Ni una más is a portrait of generation Z and its relationship with the adult world, pornography, social networks, drugs and sexual abuse in the times of the feminist revolution and #MeToo". It talks about finding your way in life, learning what freedom, friendship and love mean, finding out where your desires can take you. It's a series starring teenagers, but it's not a series 'just' for teenagers."
"Ni una más is a drama that unfolds like a thriller from the very first sequence. It has an internal tension that runs through and sustains the story".
"I have spent the last five years of my life very angry with my daughter. One day I realized I couldn't go on like that. This story was born out of that need to transform the dynamics of our relationship. I needed to get my daughter back. And I realized that to do that the first step had to be to get under her skin. That's how Alma was born."
About Ni una más
A few days before the week of final exams for the second year of high school, Alma, a 17-year-old teenager, conflictive, a bad student and with low self-esteem, spreads a white cloth in front of the front of her high school where the night before she had written in big red letters: "Beware. A rapist is hiding in there".
Students and teachers crowd around the windows of classrooms and corridors. Hundreds of cell phones record the scene. A murmur spreads from mouth to mouth. No one believes her. Everyone thinks she is lying. Outside the institute Alma raises her chin in a defiant attitude. Her gaze is challenging. She hopes no one notices that she is trembling.
How and when did this sexual assault happen? Who is this rapist? Who is the victim? Is what Alma reports true or is it a lie? To find out the answers to these questions you have to travel five months back in time. That is where this story begins.
