Netflix announced Beyond the Universe, new Brazilian film that gathers romance and drama

Living a great love is worth it, for as long as it takes. That's the main message of Netflix's new Brazilian rom com, Beyond the Universe (Depois do Universo), which starts shooting this month in São Paulo. Starring Henry Zaga, Brazilian actor known for his roles in Teen Wolf and 13 Reasons Why, and Giulia Be, singer and multi-instrumentalist nominated for Best New Artist at the Latin Grammy 2021, the production is written and directed by Diego Freitas, and is forecasted is to launch next year.

In the movie, the talented pianist Nina (Giulia Be) must overcome the challenges of dealing with lupus, an autoimmune disease that can attack any part of the body - the kidney, in her case. The young woman is surprised by a strong connection with Gabriel (Henry Zaga), one of the doctors on the team who take care of her, and who will help her overcome her insecurities in the struggle to play on stage with a huge orchestra in São Paulo.

Also in the cast are actors such as João Miguel, Othon Bastos, Rita Assemany, Leo Bahia, Viviane Araújo, Isabel Fillardis, Adriana Lessa, Denise Del Vecchio and João Côrtes. Depois do Universo  is a Brazilian Netflix film, produced by Camisa Listrada. André Carreira and Luciano Reck are the executive producers behind it.

Beyond the Universe is one of the national productions that launches on Netflix in 2022. The film is among the original local content produced exclusively for the streaming service - from fictional and documentary series to films and reality shows: the best Brazilian stories in different genres and formats, for different tastes and moods.
