Limited Series About the Greatest Soccer Team of All Time: Netflix Releases the Trailer and Poster For 'Brazil '70: The Third Star'

São Paulo, May 5, 2026 — It's time for the kickoff! Netflix has just released the trailer and poster for Brazil '70: The Third Star, a drama miniseries premiering on May 29 that follows the Brazilian national team's journey to its third World Cup title at the 1970 tournament in Mexico.

In the trailer, we follow Brazil's attempt to regain soccer's ultimate crown from its European rivals after its defeat at the 1966 World Cup. As it strives to restore the nation's pride, the Brazilian team starts to prepare with Pelé (Lucas Agrícola) as its star, first under João Saldanha (Rodrigo Santoro), and later under Zagallo (Bruno Mazzeo).

With João Saldanha dismissed, as the conflicts of the harshest period of the military regime rage on, Mário Zagallo takes over as head coach and ushers in a new phase. Inheriting an already assembled team, he takes charge of a side that must overcome instability and stay united both on and off the pitch on the road to glory.

From the recreation of memorable plays to the behind-the-scenes moments that helped cement the team's legacy, the miniseries revisits the squad's journey under the enormous pressure of representing an entire country. The all-star cast includes names such as Tostão (Ravel Andrade), Félix (Hugo Haddad), Carlos Alberto (Caio Cabral), Jairzinho (Gui Ferraz), Gérson (Fillipe Soutto) and Rivellino (Daniel Blanco). The series directed by Paulo Morelli and Pedro Morelli, with Quico Meirelles also directing several episodes, was created by Naná Xavier and Rafael Dornellas. Production is led by Paulo Morelli and Pedro Morelli, alongside Cristina Abi, with Gustavo Gontijo as executive producer. Felipe Sant'Angelo shares final screenplay credits with Naná Xavier. The cast also includes Marcelo Adnet (Eusébio Teixeira), Bruna Mascarenhas (Rosemeri), Maicon Rodrigues (Paulo Cézar Caju), Val Perré (Mário Américo), Lara Tremouroux (Rosa), Felipe Frazão (Leo), Victor Salomão (Dadá Maravilha) and José Beltrão (Parreira).

Produced by Netflix in partnership with O2 Filmes, Brazil '70: The Third Star comes to Netflix May 29.
