The cast of the ultra-exciting series includes talented child actors Naila Schuberth and Sammy Schrein, alongside Kim Riedle, Hans Löw, Haley Louise Jones, Justus von Dohnányi, Julika Jenkins, Birge Schade, Christian Beermann, Seraphina Maria Schweiger, Özgür Karadeniz, and Jeanne Goursaud.
More interesting facts about DEAR CHILD:
Romy Hausmann's thriller was also an international sensation – in the US and England, for example. The book has been translated into 24 languages in total.
Head Writer Isabel Kleefeld and producers Tom Spiess and Friederich Oetker were able to get their hands on a copy of the book just before publishing, thanks to their good relationship with the publishers, and thought the story was so promising that they immediately secured the rights.
The music for the series was created by Argentinian composer and two-time Oscar winner Gustavo Santaolalla. He won the Academy Award for Best Original Score for Brokeback Mountain (2006) and Babel (2007). He worked in collaboration with Juan Luqui to compose the tense, atmospheric soundtrack for DEAR CHILD.
Two leading and very complex roles in the miniseries are played by talented child actors Naila Schuberth and Sammy Schrein. Since DEAR CHILD is a psychological thriller, the children each got a tailored and child-appropriate script written just for them.
The child actors were cast first for the miniseries, before the adults, since the adults needed to have certain physical similarities with the children.
Coming on September 7 – exclusively and worldwide on Netflix!
