Danielle Winits, Jojo Maronttinni, Pepita and Mumuzinho are a few of the special guests popping up on Smother-in-Law, a comedy created by and starring Rodrigo Sant’Anna

São Paulo, April 7, 2022 - Dona Isadir (Rodrigo Sant’Anna) isn’t the only one who’s going to upend the household of her son Carlos (Rafael Zulu) and his wife Alice (Lidi Lisboa). The sassy, intrusive mother-in-law is bringing special guests with her on Smother-in-Law, the first multi-camera Brazilian sitcom on Netflix, which premieres April 13.

The cast includes Internet-famous names like Isaías, cast as a reporter, and Vittor Fernando, who plays a ride-share driver. Singers Mumuzinho, Jojo Maronttinni and Pepita also appear. Buchecha plays a passenger. Danielle Winits appears as a TV personality, while Eliana Pittman portrays Alice’s mother. Thaíssa Carvalho is Carlos’s ex-girlfriend, a personal trainer who causes chaos as she helps Dona Isadir with her plans to get rid of her daughter-in-law.

With ten 25-minute episodes, Smother-in-Law is produced by Os Suburbanos Produções for Netflix and directed by Alex Cabral.

Synopsis

Dona Isadir is a nightmare mother-in-law. She’s been living with her son Carlos’s well-to-do family since the pandemic started. She’s convinced that he can do better than his sophisticated wife Alice, and she’ll do anything to avoid returning to her tiny apartment on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. Starring Rodrigo Sant’Anna, Lidi Lisboa, Rafael Zulu, Pedro Ottoni, Bárbara Sut, Daniela Fontan, Solange Teixeira and Ney Lima.
