Last night, Madrid was transformed in true Bridgerton style to celebrate the premiere of the second part of the fourth season of the series. The leading cast members Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton), Yerin Ha (Sophie Baek) and Hannah Dodd (Francesca Bridgerton) travelled to the Spanish capital for a magical evening alongside Spain’s high society, while also taking in the charm of Madrid’s most traditional quarters. The city opened its doors to an exclusive masquerade ball worthy of the Bridgerton family itself. The first four episodes of the fourth season are already available, with the second instalment set to premiere on Netflix on 26 February 2026.

The masquerade ball opened with the grand entrance of nine debutantes, each showcasing couture looks made in Spain inspired by the world of Bridgerton. The designs were created exclusively for the occasion by renowned Spanish designers Ana Locking, Carmen Farala, Dominnico, Luis de Javier, María Escoté, Palomo Spain, Paola Barreto, Rocío Osorno and Vicky Martín Berrocal for Lala Chus, Mar Flores, Alba Carrillo, Samantha Hudson, Iera González, Manu Moreno, Virtual Diva, Elena Gortari and Lola Lolita, respectively.

In addition to the series’ leading cast, numerous well-known figures  including Anabel Pantoja, Isa Pantoja, Ana Guerra, Leo Rizzi, Lucía Caraballo, Patricia Conde, Javi Morgade, Raúl Tejón, Marta Carriedo, Patricio Alvargonzález, Abril Zamora, Tomy Aguilera, Andrea Compton, Javi Hoyos and Fernando Gil did not miss the opportunity to don their finest attire for this gathering in the heart of Madrid.

Bridgerton, from Shondaland and showrunner Jess Brownell, return with a fourth season inspired by the magic of fairy tales. The bohemian Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), the family’s second son, remains reluctant to settle down despite the pleas of his mother, Lady Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell). Everything changes at the masquerade ball hosted by Violet, where Benedict finds himself captivated by a mysterious Lady in Silver. With the reluctant assistance of his sister Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), Benedict resolves to immerse himself in society in order to uncover the young woman’s identity. However, the woman who has captured his heart is not a lady of the ton, but a maid named Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), who works for the formidable mistress of the house, Araminta Gun (Katie Leung).

When fate brings Benedict and Sophie together once more, he finds himself torn between his feelings for the intriguing maid and the fantasy of the Lady in Silver, unaware that they are one and the same. Will his inability to see that both women are the same person extinguish the undeniable spark between them? And can love truly conquer all, even a relationship forbidden by the rigid boundaries of class?

The marriages of his siblings serve as inspiration to Benedict, including that of Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) to John Stirling (Victor Alli), and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) to Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), who now faces fresh challenges as her identity as the author of the notorious society gossip column becomes public knowledge.
