WATCH MAIN TRAILER HERE Bringing a refreshing take on the multi-faceted themes of sex, romance and family dynamics, Taiwanese comedy series Let’s Talk About CHU premieres on February 2, exclusively and globally on Netflix.

Co-produced by Machi Xcelsior Studios and Lucky Sparks Films, the contemporary, bold and heartwarming series is helmed by award-winning director Remii Huang (At the Moment). Let’s Talk About CHU explores the intricacies of love and relationships through the lens of different generations in the Chu family. The story begins on New Year’s Eve, when the struggles of “love” and “sex” within the Chu family take center stage.

Meet the Chu family.

The youngest daughter, Chu-ai (Chan Tzu-hsuan), works as a wax therapist, while running a sex education social media channel. Guided by the mantra “make love, not fall in love,” she navigates her anxieties through a friends-with-benefits relationship with Ping-ke (Kai Ko), who also shares her skepticism about love.

At the same time, her older sister Chu-wei, (Kimi Hsia), faces marital challenges with her husband Shi-chieh (Umin Boya), while her brother, Yu-sen (JC Lin), breaks up with his long-time boyfriend after being trapped in an unbalanced relationship. Against the backdrop of a strained relationship between their parents, played by Miao Ke-li and Hong Sheng-te), the series delves into whether  Chu-ai can find a path to self-discovery, satisfying her desires, and establishing a meaningful relationship.

Director Remii Huang, drawing from her own life experiences, aims to initiate conversations about sex—a topic often avoided in Asian cultures. The comedy drama boldly tackles contemporary relationship issues within the Chu family, emphasizing the importance of open discussions about sexuality for fostering healthy relationships.

Sharing his initial thoughts on  the script, actor Kai Ko said, "Each family member in the Chu family represents a different age group and their values, and I found the script interesting as it examines life through the different facets of sexuality." Lead actress Chan Tzu-hsuan echoed the same sentiments, saying, “Let’s Talk About CHU is a unique series, and seeing how each character navigates their own trauma is the most touching aspect for me. I am particularly excited to take on the challenging role of Chu-ai.”
