In this futuristic dystopian thriller, directed by Afonso Poyart, two sisters vie for long-jump stardom in a future where bionic augmentations dominate in the world of sport. But this rivalry leads them down a sinister path. In the movie, premiering on May 29, ambition, moral dilemmas and family conflicts unfold in a cyberpunk setting, with adrenaline-filled action scenes.
Within a star-studded cast, Gabz and Jessica Córes play two sisters who have been competing against each other since childhood to reach the top and make a name for themselves in sport. The leads are joined by Bruno Gagliasso (Heitor) and Christian Malheiros (Gus), as well as Klebber Toledo, Paulo Vilhena and Danton Mello in a plot filled with suspense and twists.
The first Brazilian movie of its kind produced by Netflix, this movie features innovative visual effects. The first images from Bionic give viewers a sneak peek at the cyberpunk world that awaits them.
Produced by Black Filmes for Netflix, Bionic is directed by Afonso Poyart, whose past directorial credits include Brazilian hits such as 2 Rabbits and Solace.
