Kai Ko and Wang Po-chieh Unleash Divine Glory in Electrifying ‘Agent from Above’ Teaser

Netflix has unveiled the official teaser and two brand-new teaser images for its fantasy action series Agent from Above, offering a striking first look at its mythic world ahead of its global premiere on April 2.

One teaser art spotlights Wang Po-chieh as the enigmatic Third Crown Prince, clad in a fur coat, wearing shades and casually savoring a lollipop. Set against an apocalyptic backdrop, he exudes the arrogant presence of a god descending upon the human realm. In contrast, Kai Ko’s Han Chieh, the reluctant spirit medium, appears in the cold steel corridors of Dongfang Market, gripping a blazing fire-tipped spear. Together, they capture a world suspended between deities, spirits and humans.

The teaser opens with Han Chieh plummeting from the sky before awakening to the mischievous Third Crown Prince, who calls him into his divine mission. Here, we learn about the series’ mythology: only a rare few can forge contracts with gods and demons, becoming envoys burdened with immense power. As supernatural threats close in, Han Chieh wields talismanic milk caps that erupt in golden flames, fending off vengeful spirits in visually explosive confrontations.

In its final moments, the teaser builds to a confrontation between Han Chieh and the Shen Lung Crown Prince (Kuo Tzu-chien), whose darkened eyes and traditional ceremonial attire radiate an ominous presence. After blocking a strike, Han Chieh coolly slaps a milk cap talisman onto his opponent’s forehead, and sparks explode into a blazing fire-tipped spear. He charges forward, leaping into a decisive final blow. The Third Crown Prince grins: “Rebellious by nature. That’s my spirit medium.”

Director Kuan Wei-chieh explained that each milk cap channels a different ritual weapon, drawing inspiration from Taiwanese author Teensy’s original novel: “We focused on how these weapons manifest on screen and the physical toll they take. Every time Han Chieh uses one, he must endure pain.”

Kai Ko shared that this interpretation of the Third Crown Prince departs from traditional temple imagery: “In Agent from Above, he feels futuristic and even fashion-forward. From the styling to the weapons, it’s a complete reimagining. The relationship between Han Chieh and the Third Crown Prince isn’t strictly hierarchical — it’s more like mentor and student, sometimes even bickering brothers.”

Blending traditional Taiwanese temple culture with dynamic action and elevated visual effects, Agent from Above builds a visually striking world spanning gods, humans and ghosts, premiering April 2 exclusively on Netflix.
