Netflix ISP Speed Index for November 2021

Product Innovation

Indonesia’s Telkom rose to new heights in November on the Netflix ISP Speed Index, our monthly update on which ISPs provide the best primetime Netflix streaming experience.

Telkom soared 1 Megabit per second (Mbps) to 2.8 Mbps, an improvement from 1.8 Mbps the month prior. Thanks in part to this surge, Indonesia’s average speed posted the biggest jump in November, increasing  0.6 Mbps to 3.0 Mbps.

Three other countries also saw their average speeds rise in November. Guatemala, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan all saw an average speed increase of 0.2 Megabits per second (Mbps).

Elsewhere in Asia, Vietnam’s VNPT fell 0.4 Mbps to 3.4 Mbps.

Four countries saw a decrease. Bolivia, Costa Rica, and Vietnam fell by 0.2 Mbps to 3.2 Mbps. Paraguay, which last month was a top-performing country, also saw a dip in their average speed by 0.2 Mbps to 3.4 Mbps.

The highest performing ISPs sustained their average speed from last month of 3.8 Mbps.

30 countries and regions were in the top performance-tier in the month of November. Eight out of the nine new entrants last month — Finland, Malaysia, Canada, India, Ireland, Panama, Italy, and South Korea — returned to the top-performance tier in November. They rejoin Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, UK, US. All areas registered an average speed of 3.6 Mbps.

The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of primetime Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services/data that may travel across the specific ISP network. Faster Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times and fewer interruptions. We also created a separate tool to check your current download performance: visit https://FAST.com on any internet browser or download the FAST Speed Test iOS or Android app.
