King of Stonks is the new series from the creators of award-winning young-adult hit How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast) and the documentary Shiny Flakes. Inspired by true events, the story is both bursting with absurdity and shockingly authentic, showing the journey of a company into toxic masculinity, with power-obsessed egocentrics at the helm. King of Stonks tells an unmistakably German story, one of a finance industry stuck in fusty conference hotels, dreaming of becoming the German Silicon Valley. The story revolves around narcissism, megalomania, and double standards, with a power-hungry CEO (Matthias Brandt), his right-hand man and behind-the-scenes puppet master (Thomas Schubert) and a desperate short seller (Larissa Sirah Herden). Written by Philipp Käßbohrer, Fabienne Hurst, Jan Eichberg and Mats Frey, this btf production stands for highest quality with hard-hitting and biting comedy elements – a poster-child for innovative TV productions made in Germany.

King of Stonks premieres on June 25 at the Munich International Film Festival. Showrunners Philipp Käßbohrer and Matthias Murmann, alongside Director Jan Bonny, will be joined at the world premiere by actors Matthias Brandt, Thomas Schubert und Larissa Herden, where they will be available for interviews. The show will run worldwide on Netflix from July 6.
