Netflix has released the official trailer for the new comedy series Crap Happens, offering a glimpse into the world of what is probably Brandenburg's most peculiar village. This is where big dreams, old conflicts, and very eccentric residents collide.
It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: Toni (Anton Schneider) has only two weeks left to impress a music label with his talent and become a famous rap star. To do so, he needs to come up with real hits quickly, but unfortunately he's stuck in his hometown of Kacken with his quirky relatives – dealing with a sudden death, family chaos, and a son he didn't know he had until recently. Time is slowly but surely slipping away...
Alongside Anton “Fatoni” Schneider and Dimitrij Schaad, the show features a versatile ensemble cast, including Sky Arndt, Jördis Triebel, Sophia Münster, Jana Münster, Marc Hosemann, Sherine Ciara Merai, Ruth Reinecke, Vincent Redetzki, Taneshia Abt, Matthias Brandt, Edin Hasanovic, Salim Samatou, Maxwell Mare, Hannah Ehrlichmann and Veronica Ferres. Runa Greiner narrates the story.
Various cameo appearances from the German rap and music scene provide additional surprises. Among others, Nura, Danger Dan, Romano, McLuvin, and Curse are featured.
Crap Happens was developed by brothers Alex and Dimitrij Schaad. Alex Schaad and Jano Ben Chaabane directed the series, which was produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production (executive producers: Bernd von Fehrn, Kristina Löbbert) for Netflix. Richard Lamprecht is the executive producer.
Crap Happens premieres on Netflix on February 26.
About Crap Happens
Ever since he can remember, Toni has wanted nothing more than to leave his hometown of Kacken and become a famous rapper. But even after 18 years in Berlin, his career still hasn't taken off and Toni makes a living as a pizza baker. Until his life is turned upside down when his mother dies while rescuing a duck and Toni has to return to Kacken. Unexpectedly, he's offered the career opportunity of a lifetime - yet at the same time, he must deal with his younger stepfather Johnny Carrera, the talking baby duck Tupac, and the other quirky villagers. And as if that weren't enough, his 13-year-old son Charly, whom he never knew about, suddenly shows up in his life...
